Clean something
What needs cleaning? Homes Cars Backyards Attics Boats Swimming pools Carpets Windows Chimneys Rain gutters Parking lots Offices Air ducts Upholstery Window screens Just to name a few. Things need to be cleaned but few of us enjoy doing it. Doing things people are unwilling or unable to do for themselves is a sure winner. You charge them for the service and your customers have something that was dirty and is now clean. Couldn't be better.
Repair something
What needs repairing? Often the same things that need cleaning and people are ready to have you do the work for the same reasons: they are unwilling or unable to do the job themselves.
Grow something
What to grow? Houseplants Vegetables Flowering plants Herbs Bonsai It doesn't take much space to set up a garden outdoors or indoors. Sell your produce to restaurants, your flowers to flower shops, and your houseplants to nurseries.
Write something
This is probably the lowest cost start up of all. Virtually all you need is a pen and paper to get started. Your final copy must be typed, though. Sell your writing to magazines, newsletters, and newspapers both online and off.
